Why did you choose AGRANA for your internship?
For completing my Bachelor studies, an internship in the field of Human Resources was required and AGRANA as an international company operating in the food industry provided a unique possibility to apply my theoretical knowledge and improve my skills.
How did you apply for the internship? How was the application process set up?
Two months after applying via the AGRANA career website, I was invited for a phone interview and afterwards for a personal interview. Subsequently, I received a positive reply from the responsible HR Manager.
Shortly describe a typical working day within your internship at AGRANA. What were your main tasks?
My main tasks included the transmission of employee data for the monthly payroll, time-management as well as personnel administration. In addition to supporting the entry and exit processes of employees, I was also involved in the pre-selection of potential candidates in the area of recruiting. As part of an HR software implementation project, I also gained exciting insights into project management.
What did you like most about your internship?
I really liked that I had the chance to work independently and that I was integrated in projects and several HR processes. Beside a pleasant working atmosphere and friendly and cooperative colleagues, I was assigned varied tasks and benefitted from valuable feedback from my superiors during my internship.
What kind of experiences can you take with you from the internship at AGRANA?
I got many insights into various fields and was able to apply my theoretical knowledge learned at university. It became apparent that an open attitude as well as teamwork are particularly important in large companies. Furthermore, I am of the opinion that empathy and taking responsibility are essential in the area of Human Resources.
Would you recommend an internship at AGRANA? Why?
Absolutely! As an intern, AGRANA gives you the opportunity to gain insights into various areas and processes and to handle tasks independently. In addition, you have the opportunity to make many new contacts.
What advice would you give future interns?
Try out new things and take advantage of the time at AGRANA to acquire knowledge and expand your personal network.
